8 Days Gorilla Tour Uganda Wildlife Safaris Tour: Safari Day by day

Day 1: On arrival at Entebbe International Airport.

You will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Kampala for overnight at Forest Cottages Lodge. BB

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast, your guide will pick you from your lodge and transfer you to Lake Mburo national park. Stop over at the Equator at Kayabwe for photographs and water experiments.

Proceed and have lunch in the park, later have a boat ride on the lake. The park is a very good opportunity for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found here, including Papyrus Gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruther’s cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. Dinner and overnight at Mpogo Lodge. FB

Day 3: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have an early game drive in search of the beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, oribi and topi, later transfer to Bwindi, with lunch en route. You reach Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community. FB

Day 4: The encounter with mountains gorillas

Morning briefing from the rangers at 8.00 am before you enter the gorilla sanctuary. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek.

Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities.

Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters’ frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.

A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 600.

There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. In the evening return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Tree climbing lions of Ishasha

After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, through Ishasha the southern sector of the park. You will do a game drive in the open savannah covered by acacias trees on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley.

You will search for the typical tree-climbing lions, a population which is only found in this part of the country. It is impressive to see the animals while they are resting lying on top of the fig’s trees. Have lunch en route. In the afternoon proceed to Bush lodge for dinner and overnight. FB

Day 6: Boat cruise along Kazinga Channel and Lake Edward

Embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens’s mile tracks in the park and expect to see lions, elephants, cape buffalo, warthogs, leopard, spotted hyena, mongoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, topi, and a lot of small animals and birds.

Return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch on board, the boat cruise for the best navigation of the Kazinga Channel, a good experience for birders, as you will see many water birds, cormorants, pelicans, eagles, as well as crocodiles, hippos, elephants. In the evening you proceed to Fort Portal for dinner and overnight at Turaco Tree Tops Lodge. FB

Day 7: Chimpanzees trekking in Kibale National Park

Go for an early morning chimpanzee viewing in Kibale National Park. After lunch enjoy an early afternoon nature walk to view the butterflies and other insects. Visit the tropical swamps and their vegetation.

Have a chance of seeing some water birds. Have an evening tour of the crater region, visit “top of the world’’, the natural bridge and a view of the snow cap on the Rwenzori on a clear day. Dinner and overnight at Turaco Tree Tops Lodge. FB
